Designer: Kristen Luong
KROMAGNON is streetwear reimagined. It is elegant, refined, luxurious, and mindful. KROMAGNON is designed by Kristen Luong who has previously worked for Derek Lam and Zac Posen and graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Kristen's design aesthetic is modern with clean lines and draws from her background in urban culture and science. The inspiration for KROMAGNON comes from the Cro-Magnon Man, who was one of the early humans to utilize sewing, weaving, tanning, and art as part of their culture. Like these early humans, KROMAGNON uses sustainable and ecologically friendly practices but fuses them with Kristen's aesthetic, yielding a dramatic and unique collection.
With KROMAGNON, Kristen's goal is to change the fashion industry by making amazing clothing that consumers purchase without even realizing that it doesn't harm society or the environment so that it is a pleasant surprise for them when they finally understand the impact. We want consumers to start asking why aren't all clothes made with such materials and practices, so it is the rule instead of the exception. We source natural, sustainable, ethical and recycled materials such as hemp blended with peace silk (where the silkworms were let to live their full life cycles), organic cotton blended with recycled plastic bottles PET, cotton, nut, and shell-based trims and others. Everything is sustainable, organic, natural, and most importantly, biodegradable and made in New York City, NY, USA.
